Costa Brava in Winter


Cadaqués, Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is a must-see when in Catalonia. Meaning ‘Wild Coast’ for its rocky nature, this coastal region in the northeast of the country occupies about 60 km, from Blanes and all the way up to Portbou. The Costa Brava not only comprises splendid beaches, cliffs and coves but also amazing natural parks and impressive cultural heritage such as the Ruins of Empúries and medieval legacy, found in towns like Tossa de Mar, not to mention that the region was home and inspiration to one of the greatest artists of all times, Salvador Dalí.

Now that the cold is finally coming, nothing better than a mini winter series ;) After the oh-so-bucolic Finnish Lapland it’s Saint Petersburg‘s turn. I visited Russia‘s second largest city with my dear friend Laia during my time in Finland, long long ago.

Getting to the middle of nowhere took me over twenty hours, but after a long yet surprisingly quiet night train journey, a couple of bus rides admiring the whiteness all around and a missed chance to visit the real Santa Claus, I got there safe and sound.
