Therevada Buddhism is the most common religion in Thailand, practised by over 90% of the population. Therefore, it’s hard to oversee the many different temples (wats) spread across the country, that for sure deserve a visit when in the “land of smiles”. Some have free entrance, but that’s not the case of the biggest and most touristy ones. We picked a couple in Bangkok, in Ayutthaya (80 km north of the capital) and in Chiang Mai.
