Esta fue mi segunda vez en Tailandia, repitiendo Bangkok y Chiang Mai, donde ya había viajado a principios de 2014 en mi primer viaje de mochila en Asia. En esta ocasión, pude conocer Chiang Mai con mucha más profundidad, ya que pasé un mes entero ahí. Estuve también unos días en las islas del golfo de Tailandia, concretamente en Koh Samui, Koh Phangan y Koh Tao (con la correspondiente dosis de mareos que conlleva el  island-hopping) y, cómo no, pasé también unos días en Bangkok.

Oh, Thai food… what can I say?  Exotic, cheap, tasty, considerably healthy… Street food is really something there. I truly loved the markets, specially the night ones: streets full of stalls selling all kinds of delicious treats besides clothes, accessories, souvenirs and much more, all in one place. Heaven.

Therevada Buddhism is the most common religion in Thailand, practised by over 90% of the population. Therefore, it’s hard to oversee the many different temples (wats) spread across the country, that for sure deserve a visit when in the “land of smiles”. Some have free entrance, but that’s not the case of the biggest and most touristy ones. We picked a couple in Bangkok, in Ayutthaya (80 km north of the capital) and in Chiang Mai.
